Leather Tray Sizes Compared

I offer my leather trays in a variety of sizes. In this post, I compare each of my standard sizes along with images of what each tray can hold so that you can make a confident decision while making your purchase. All provided measurements describe the usable, internal area of the tray, not the external footprint.

Key Trays - 4" x 4"

These are intended to hold a single set of keys, and would also accommodate a few small items like coins or a small pen knife.

Pencil Trays - 4" x 8"

These trays are intended to hold pens and pencils at a desk as well as a few other small items like SD cards or paperclips

Valet Tray - 6" x 8"

These trays are intended to hold most of the contents of your pockets at the end of the day. It will comfortably hold a set of keys, a small wallet, a small knife, and a pen, give or take a few things. This size could also accommodate a phone if the items were allowed pile up, but I prefer to keep my phone in a different place to where I store my keys.

Large Valet Tray - 8" x 10"

Similar to the above, but with a bit more room for larger items. This is for the person who carries a leatherman, rather than a pen knife, a full sized billfold rather than a card sleeve, and someone with a large ring of keys rather than just a few.

US Letter - 9" x 11.5"

Designed to serve as an inbox or outbox for US Letter sized paper. This will also allow a comprehensive EDC to be displayed without overlap, and it works nicely in the middle of a coffee table as a place to corral the remotes.
